The Wilderness Lodge is planning to add 26 waterside bungalows to its Disney Vacation Club portfolio, much like the over-the-water bungalows at Disney’s Polynesian Villas and Bungalows.
These waterside cabins will be broken into two area, tucked onto the shoreline at the resort. Guests with lake views at Wilderness Lodge shouldn’t see much of an impact to those views.
Construction on the new bungalows is expected to start later this year and might also include improvements to a pool area – presumably the DVC pool area since the main pool was just refurbished last year. The addition of new dining experiences are also rumored to be part of the updates.
Like the Polynesian bungalows, guests can expect the nightly rates for these Wilderness Lodge bungalows to run more than $2,000 a night. The bungalows will keep the rustic feel of the Lodge but will include full kitchens and washers and dryers.
There is no word yet on when the new bungalows will be completed.
