We all have our favorite reasons for staying that Lodge; here are a few that fill our top spots!

5. Electric Water Pageant: Wilderness Lodge is the cheapest resort hotel where you can stay and still get a nightly view of the Electric Water Pageant! The water pageant is an old tradition at Walt Disney World, traversing the Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake since 1971. The pageant consists of two strings of seven barges, each carrying a 25-foot-tall screen of lights. In total, there are more than 50,000 bulbs lighting up the water with a show that starts out aquatic and moves into patriotic, with accompanying music. At Wilderness Lodge, expect the Electric Water Pageant to glide by around 9:45 p.m.

4. Flag Family: Flag Family is a fun tradition just for those staying at the Wilderness Lodge. Every morning, a family gets the honor of waking up very early to help a cast member raise five flags over the Lodge: the American flag, the Florida State flag, the Walt Disney World flag, and two Wilderness Lodge flags. 3.Carolwood Pacific Room: Did you know that Walt Disney loved steam trains? The Carolwood Pacific Room, located in the Villas area of the Wilderness Lodge, is a great place to relax and unwind — and see two backyard railroad cars that belonged to Walt himself! They’re part of the 1/8 scale Carolwood Pacific Railroad that ran in Walt’s backyard, and they’re a great treat for Disney fans to see. Click here to learn more about the Carolwood Pacific Railroad!

2. The Secret Fireplaces: On just about every floor of the Wilderness Lodge, there are public areas with fireplaces and comfy sofas and chairs. They’re something entirely unique that can’t be found at any other Walt Disney World resort! They’re secluded, cozy, and romantic. The fireplaces are a perfect place for a private celebration, engagement, or just to relax in the log-cabin feel.

1. Fire Rock Geyser: The Fire Rock Geyser, modeled after Yellowstone’s famous Old Faithful geyser, is a great reason to stay at Wilderness Lodge! It goes off every hour on the hour through 10 p.m., shooting a 120-foot plume into the air. Check it out – it’s located between the Silver Creek Springs pool and Bay Lake.
