Keeping Cool at the Wilderness Lodge

The Lodge and Silver Springs Creek Pool

This summer has been dubbed the “Coolest Summer Ever” by Disney, so it only makes sense that you’ll want to keep your cool while visiting Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort.

Summer in Central Florida isn’t just hot – it’s melt-your-shoes-to-the-pavement HOT. And this means it is essential to stay cool. The Wilderness Lodge has some great ways to do just that.

First – and perhaps most importantly – we suggest spending some time (OK, a lot of time!) at the Silver Creeks Springs Pool. The entire pool area was refurbished last fall and not only was a fence added, but now the kids have a great splash zone to play in!

While you’re hanging out by the pool we suggest stopping by the Trout Pass Pool Bar. The frozen drinks menu is full of cold and refreshing drink that are perfect for sipping poolside.

And while the Wilderness Lodge sits on the shores of Bay Lake you can’t swim in the lake (actually you can’t swim in any of the lakes on property) but you can rent a boat at the Teton Boat and Bike Rental.

Of course you can always enjoy the cool air conditioning of the Wilderness Lodge’s lobby and just people watch. We’d recommend people watching with a snack and you can find those at the Roaring Fork. If you’re looking for fun-filled meal we’d recommend getting an Advance Dining Reservation for the Whispering Canyon Cafe.

What’s your favorite way to keep cool when visiting the Wilderness Lodge in the summer?
